World Interfaith Harmony Week 2020

The Silsilah Forum-CDO had been taking part in observing/celebrating the WIHW in the past 4 years and this year, SFCDO will take part again in observing/celebrating the week-long activity
with its theme: “CELEBRATING DIALOGUE TOWARDS HARMONY.”
Here are the following planned activities:
February 1 – the Interfaith Group of CDO(where SFCDO serves as Secretariat) will have its
informal Recollection/Get-together. The venue will be at Claveria, Misamis Oriental.
February 2 – will be joining the team building activity of the Muslim Youth Council to share to
the group about WIHW. The venue will be at Sonresa Beach in Cagayan de Oro.
February 5 – Forum on Jesus in the Qur’an and in the Bible. Possible venue will be at Xavier
University Little Theater.
February 6 – A visit to the Buddhist Temple in Gusa, CDO.
February 8 – A visit to an Orphanage in CDO.
February 9 – Activity with the youth IDPs from Marawi who are still in CDO
Last February 1, the Muslim Coordinator was invited to attend the Board meeting of the Catholic Educators Association of the Philippines, Region 10 and was asked to share about the World Interfaith Harmony Week and about Interreligious Dialogue (IRD).
On February 5, they invited by Balay Mindanaw to facilitate a Peace Workshop and participants are Barangay and youth leaders from Tamparan, Tubaran, Wao, Butig, Amai Manabilang (these are municipalities of Lanao del Sur. This was timely for the WIHW so they shared a bit about it.
They visited the Care Center Orphanage supported by Turkish, both Muslim and Christian Coordinator of Silsilah Forum Cagayan de Oro also shared about the WIHW.

The Christian Coordinator also had her own activities to attend to and both Silsilah Forum Cagayan made sure that they promote the spirit of the World Interfaith Harmony Week.
