Harmony Youth Day 2018
The sun arises as the 3rd day of February came; everything was set the day before the Harmony Youth Day. The secretariat was ready with a big smile that welcomed everyone for the significant event. Others were getting ready to distribute the food for the participants upon arrival and of course the most awaited motorcade began. Delegates from different schools gathered at the Petit Barracks, some of these delegates were from Lubigan National High School, Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat National High School, Western Mindanao State University and the Filipino Turkish Tolerance School.
Participants were welcomed with solemnity and the spirit of harmony; Different skit presentations were performed to showcase the God given talents of the youths in connection with the theme “Celebrating the transforming powers of the Love of God and the Love of Neighbor for the common good”. Others shared their beautiful compositions of dialogue and harmony which became the voice of the youth on the peace issues. Some expressed through visual arts, posters were displayed at the same venue.
The harmony youth day is just one of the many activities of the Silsilah Dialogue Movement, in connection with the World Interfaith Harmony Week, which inspires the youth to do more, to strengthen each other’s faith, to understand and love each other’s differences, to cultivate the individual talents and skills of the youth so that they’ll learn to embrace their unique self and to empower the youth to be responsible leaders as they will also empower their fellow youth in the future.
