I brought some copies of the Prayer of Harmony in the various versions, also in English. I will meet Sister Bernarda, a Columbian, trainer of Pauline uninterruptedly traveling around the world to give courses and retreats. In two days’ leave for South Korea. I give her a few copies of the Prayer of Harmony in English, so as to promote the chain of Harmony in the countries she visits.

Here in Sorsogon, we also have Muslim brothers and Sisters, and there is a need to be in dialogue with the key persons in the local. December 10, I was invited in a radio program of the diocese and thru it, I was able to share about Mindanao, and the Harmony Prayer was aired in the FM radio. They already have a copy. I will be there again sometime this February and I will follow up for the hopefully the continuation of the Harmony Song over the Radio.

My work and mission of the harmony prayer start from my personal life with my husband and children first. And sharing the same with my nieces, their friends and all my participants of the different parishes in the Archdiocese of Zamboanga, Diocese of Ipil and the entire ZAMBASULI region when even I am invited to facilitate recollections and seminar workshops on the formation of our Christian Faith.

A.A is in Abu Dhabi, He is promoting the Harmony Prayer in his workplace and he is now considered the link person in Abu Dhabi. He was formerly the coordinator of the Harmony Chan Initiative and the SilPeace Youth program in Silsilah Dialogue Movement. He wrote to us:

I have been working here in Hong Kong for three years due to the economic crisis in the Philippines. Hoping all Filipino workers and friends will share their time to pray for peace, not only the Catholics, but also the other people of different faiths. The Harmony Chain is an Inter-Faith endeavor for the whole world. This program dreams to cover 24 hrs. of a day with prayers for Peace. Personally, I share my time from 5-6 pm every Saturday.

When I first heard about the Harmony Prayer, I said that it’s a prayer for peace that would help me to move from struggles in life and face life without much conflict. Silsilah taught me a lot. I left Silsilah physically to fulfilling my promise to my parents but that doesn’t mean that I totally left them. I am and will still have commitment in promoting dialogue and peace wherever I go. Now, I am here in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, working as a staff nurse. I have been working here for 2 years already and I commit to be a link person for the Harmony Chain Initiative and Harmony Prayer here in Saudi Arabia.

Brother Vito Verhelst, a Little Brother of Jesus and a Belgian national who died on April 1, 2001 in Manila, at the age of seventy-two was a passionate promoter of the Harmony Prayer. A Little Sisters of Jesus, who assisted him in the hospital up to his last moment, told me, “Fr., before dying, Brother Vito told us to continue your Chain of Harmony and Peace. These were his last words.”

Indeed, prayers do move mountain. More than ever, with the specific intentions of the people who pray– PEACE is still a priority especially for the people in Mindanao whom up until now are still crying for peace. I would like to inform you that the Harmony Chain Initiative is living to its legacy as set expectations for those who have encountered Silsilah and experience it in their lifetime.
